All in six months

Having been creating gorgeous private gardens since 1996, the majority of our projects come from recommendation. However all new clients understandably question what can be achieved in a few months, even if they understand that the instant gratification provided by TV Makeover Shows is really only skin deep.

Thus planting traditional bare rooted roses in the depth of winter  holds out little hope of whats in store…

…however six months later this newly created cut flower garden is barely recognisable. The moral of the story? Well these beautiful roses came from the country’s’ leading supplier and their roots were dressed in the latest mycorrhizal fungal solution, to aid establishment. If you want to add impact quickly you need to go the extra mile.

Meanwhile Eryngiums and sweat peas germinated by us in January provides ample cut flowers for house and friends.

Sometimes though growth is far slower.

Japanese maples are superb but alas staggeringly slow in growth. Faced with a large and well established specimen that was ‘in the way,’ the tree had to be saved, moved and nurtured. Gingerly a massive rootball was created, whilst the Acer was asleep in winter, and transplanted to anchor a beautiful Shepherds Hut into the landscape. But would she survive? So far so good, but much TLC needs to be given with the hot summer months now upon us.
