A pub transformed
A new lease of life was given to this rather tired and run down pub, when it was transformed into a new café, Airbnb apartment and a chic new private residence complete with a stunning courtyard nestled in the heart of a vibrant Oxfordshire village. Designed by in-house garden designer Jess Sarson, the garden incorporates a plunge pool, covered by a rolling deck – an efficient use of space with a generous pale porcelain terrace connecting to the house via large glass doors with a bespoke family-sized dining table (which converts to table tennis), using spare composite deck boards from the rolling deck creation.
Gentle shade comes from the Birch trees, underplanted by grasses, whilst privacy is created by the pleached evergreen Holm Oaks. A striking low maintenance Corten water feature sits adjacent to the Vandermoortel black clay pavers the colour of which echo the exterior walls, allowing the green and rust colours to ‘pop’. Stunning, unique and a delight.
