Cotswold Cottage Garden

Having created a garden for these clients nearly 10 years ago in Gerrards Cross, the clients called us again after they had retired to the Cotswold where they had bought the quintessential English stone cottage, complete with Aga and views over uninterrupted lanes and countryside, the silence only being interrupted by passing horses and the milk lorry.

But the front garden was dominated by ghastly conifers. The solution was just soooo easy. With a near doubling in the apparent size of their front garden, the clients wanted a classic cottage garden. Read more…

Small but formal lawns were laid, edged in ever lasting Aluminium to provide a crisp clean edge whilst the lawns were then encircled with mass plantings of Penstemons, Delphiniums, geraniums and cat mint. Snowdrops, aconites, Narcissi and Alliums flower from December onwards, whilst 2 newly planted multistemmed Birch provide some company to the retained Silver Birch.
A simple but carefully designed solution has won numerous plaudits from walkers who stop for a chat over the restored dry stone wall aswell as untold pleasure to Mike and Lynda. Heaven.
