A quick fly through gives you thesense of a very special scheme. Our second BALI National Award winning creation was, beforewe started, a frankly rather ordinary and uninspiring reargarden, laid to lawn with a few shrubs,The challenge was to create something striking, highlighting thestunning London brickwork, whilst maximising the use of themodest space. The end result a wildlife friendly haven, incorporating water, wildflower meadows, stunning trees andseveral places to sit and ponder.Designed by local designer Nicola Wakefield, sinuous circulationroutes lead you around the garden, opening up a variety ofvistas and places to admire the secluded outdoor space, tuckedaway in the centre of Wimbledon.BeforeThe resulting garden is even more impressive insofar as theentire construction with machines, spoil, soil, materials, plantsand specimen trees all went through the clients study.nicolawakefield.co.ukgardendesignco.co.uk/portfolio/wimbledon-coachhouse/Images by marklordphotography.co.uk 7'
