Autumn planting

Nothing could be more than a blind leap of faith than planting bulbs, for you see nothing until 6 months later, but what a fabulous surprise they are.

Classics such as Allium Purple Sensation never fail to thrill but new varieties such as Purple Rain are on my shopping list for this year for the add another 6 weeks of flowering time. Also high up on that list are Tulip Peppermint Stick and Liriope muscari. All can be seen below.

One of my suppliers had grown on some last year but had forgotten to list them in their catalogue, so I had the lot, and what a result.
