A combination of an offer of tickets that got me in an hour before the public and the return of Dan Pearson, after a break of 11 years, was too much to resist. So Tuesday saw an early start for a marathon nine hours around Chelsea Flower Show.
Dan’s ” Laurient-Perrier Chatsworth garden with its 300 tons of stone was a masterpiece in creation. Show gardens invariably looked ‘placed’ but this was truly stunning; ‘you really could not see the joins’ Small wonder that it won Best in Show and provides a delicious and tempting taste of what we might expect when Dan’s design for the London Garden Bridge opens in 2017.
